Christian Gifts And Talents

What is Your Calling? Find Out if You Have the Gift of Exhortation

Exhortation is the language intended to incite and encourage. Exhorters also provide warnings or advice, make urgent and appeals. God is love and has blessed us with more than one gift. We all have many seen and unseen gifts and talents. Some gifts are more dominant than others. Please visit www.SalvationBooks.com to get more definitions of all your spiritual gifts.

The Greek word “parakaleo” means to admonish and to encourage. You are a “how to” person. You have the Spirit given capacity and desire to serve God by motivating others to action by urging them to pursue a course of conduct. In a teaching position, you are able to explain how to apply God’s Word. Your goal is to present material that enables the Holy Spirit to promote change in the student’s life. You reach out and help Christians become more mature.

The Bible gives us the following message:

But to each one of us grace has been given as Christ apportioned it. This is why it says: “When he ascended on high, he led captives in his train and gave gifts to men.”(What does “he ascended” mean except that he also descended to the lower, earthly regions? He who descended is the very one who ascended higher than all the heavens, in order to fill the whole universe.) It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. Ephesians 4:7-13(NIV). Please visit www.SalvationBooks.com to get more information on how to develop your gift.

As an exhorter you are a very practical person, a good counselor, tolerant of others, serious-minded, orderly, and usually impulsive. You are expressive in a group setting; the group listens when you speak. You are comfortable working one-on-one or in groups. You are enthusiastic and talkative and enjoy encouraging others.

You are burdened to show how Scripture relates to conduct and have a desire to unify people by using practical rather than doctrinal issues. You likely place great importance on God’s will and believe that His Word has the answer for every problem. You tend to make decisions logically rather than on feelings and are very orderly. Be careful not to interrupt other people; your enthusiasm sometimes makes you guilty of this. Others may think you don’t use enough Scripture in teaching because you tend to use Scripture to support what you are teaching rather than starting with Scripture.

Unlike teachers, you have the willingness to teach the same material over and over again, updating, reworking and perfecting it as you do. As a counselor you usually have the ability to leave other people’s problems “in the office” rather than letting them drag you down.

Beware of Satan’s weapons of destruction on your gift. He may cause arrogance and pride in your motivational abilities. He may influence you to lose sight of people because of program emphasis. Don’t become discouraged or even give up when results are not evident. Be very careful not to encourage and entice others to do the wrong things through your persuasive abilities.

The Bible gives us the following message:

For the LORD your God is the one who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies to give you victory.” Deuteronomy 20:4(NIV)

The following is how you can use your spiritual gift:

You may use your special gift in many areas. You may want to be a leadership trainer. You could certainly serve as a counselor in church or in a counseling center. You could teach in church training or seminars or even small groups. You would make a good telephone ministry worker and would be a tremendous volunteer to follow up with new converts. You would work well as an encourager with those who are discouraged and as a counselor in a drug or alcohol program, rescue mission, poverty program, half-way house or runaway ministry or in a shelter for abused women and children. You could also use your gift in organizing or serving in a Men’s or Women’s Ministry. Please visit www.SalvationBooks.com to find your favorite Christian Books and Music.

Ministry Gifts

Ministry Gifts

$13.98

The importance of ministry in the body of Christ cannot be overemphasized. There can be no real expansion of the kingdom of God on earth without each member understanding this concept. It is interesting to note that God has endowed every member of the church with unique abilities, talents and spiritual gifts to function in a unique way within the body. There may be three categories of saints in the body at any time. There are primary leaders, secondary leaders and the laity. God has predetermined the position of each member in the body. God has not called everyone into Christian leadership. This book has been written to examine the call, the preparation, and the commissioning of God’s ministers.

Spiritual Gifts, Plain and Simple

Spiritual Gifts, Plain and Simple

$12.48

This book was written to cut through the controversy, disagreement and theological jargon in order to discover the Bibles plain and simple teaching on spiritual gifts. Every reader will be able to determine the specific spiritual gift God has given them to empower and sustain their personal ministry service. This book will help the reader to maximize personal ministry impact by 1) understanding the difference between spiritual gifting and natural talents, skills and abilities; 2) distinguishing between the three categories of spiritual gifts described in the Bible motivational gifts (gifts of the Father), ministry gifts (gifts of the Son) and manifestation gifts (gifts of the Spirit); 3) learning about the seven motivational gifts and how to discern which specific gift God has bestowed upon the reader. Well learn why many abilities commonly referred to as spiritual gifts are not spiritual gifts at all. Well discuss why it is possible for a Christian to manifest a particular gift once or twice and then never experience that gift again. Finally, well discover that each of us has one particular gift, given directly by God the Father, which serves as the underlying motivation for all of our ministry service. It is this motivational gift of the Father that leads to passionate and joyful service in the church and which enables us to bear abundant fruit.

Talents, Incorporated

Charlatans or Prophets? At best, the tiny Kandarian Air Fleet would fight until its last ship was blown into infinity. At worst, it would be annihilated without a chance. To young Captain Bors, either course was unthinkable. The ruthless Dictator of Mekin had already subjugated twenty-two helpless planets. Now he wanted Kandar’s unconditional surrender, or his vastly superior forces would blast it out of existence. It took a lot of guts, and the hope that is frequently born of despair, for a military man like Bors to throw in his lot with Talents, Incorporated, an untried, unscientific organization. Through peculiar gifts of extra-sensory perception, its personnel could, their leader insisted, out-think and out-guess even the most deadly dictator in the history of mankind. Could it? It just might. And it just might not. . . . But there was absolutely nothing to lose, and a free world (and a beautiful girl) to win. Captain Bors made his decision, and the loaded die was cast! * Aficionados of science fiction recognize and respect Murray Leinster as a writer of rare talent. His ingenuity of plot, his technical know-how and flight of imagination in Talents, Incorporated will go far to increase his stature and popularity as an exciting and thought-provoking storyteller.
